October is full of opportunities to give back to our school! Check out the awesome things going on in our community:

5th & 6th Grade Book Cafe

The 5th and 6th grade teams are updating their ELA space, and they need our help! From Dr. Hayes:

Our vision is to design a café-style space that provides seating for 28 students and supports multiple purposes: classroom instruction, teacher and community meetings, tutor sessions, small group collaboration, grade level meetings, and parent meetings. We want this to be a space that belongs to the school community and sparks excitement about reading, creativity, and connection.

The renovation includes the purchase of gently used wood tables and chairs (to be refinished with chalk paint), wallpaper, creative décor elements, picture frames to showcase student artwork, paint and supplies, shelving units, and the construction of custom-built bookcases. Both Dr. Hayes and Ms. McNeel have been overseeing the project to ensure it remains student-centered and budget-conscious.

We are committed to maximizing resources and making this a space for all. To help reduce costs, we are also seeking in-kind donations, such as wood for shelving and even paint, which would allow us to stretch funds even further.

Your support would directly impact our students by turning this underutilized space into a vibrant, functional, and inspiring environment for learning and community building.

Can you help with this amazing project? To donate your time, books, lumber, etc., contact Dr. Hayes! The team is having a building/painting party on October 3!
