Did you miss the PTSO meeting last Tuesday? We’ve got you covered! Here are the highlights:

Principal Updates (Ms. Makinen):

• K-6 Before and After care is coming soon!
• It’s Resource Coordinator Week – let’s celebrate Mr. Talley!
• ILT (Instructional Leadership Team) needs two parent volunteer representatives! Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month, 4:00-5:30. Email Ms. Makinen if you are interested!
• Conferences are September 24.

Artistic Director Updates (Mr. Jones):

• Policy Change: Students will no longer be required to audition for mainstage productions unless they are interested in being cast.
• Communication:
  • Parents and students are always welcome to reach out to Mr. Jones directly with questions.
  • SCPA is the first high school to have an exhibit in BLINK!

PTSO Updates:

• After Hours is coming up!! Get your tickets today before they sell out.
• The PTSO will provide food for teachers and staff at the upcoming conference night.
• A new program for to support teachers is launching this month. Our Mini Grant program is all about supporting academic teachers. Teachers can apply for a small grants to improve their classrooms, buy supplies, etc. Grantees will be announced in October!
• The PTSO is supporting the Harp Department with a custodial account.
• We will have a table at Literacy night on October 30!
